Find your community.

Think of this as a weekly gathering between the chaos of morning routines and school pick-ups — a local group for mums of newborns through to primary schoolers to connect, have honest conversations, and build friendships that actually go somewhere.

We're not a playgroup programme, a parenting class, or a church service. We're focused on genuine connection and the kind of conversations you don't always get to have.

We're a Christian not-for-profit creating welcoming spaces for mums to belong — whatever you believe.

What is this group?

Mums Groups are a weekly meetup for mums of newborns through to primary schoolers — a welcoming, low-key space to connect, build friendships, and have real conversations about the joys and the hard bits of being a mum.

To be clear: it's not a parenting class, a structured programme, or a church service. It's mums, coffee, and kids — with room for the kinds of conversations that actually matter.

What ages are the kids?

Our groups are for mums with children from newborn through to primary school age. Babies, toddlers, kindy kids, and primary aged kids are all welcome.

What actually happens at meetups?

We keep it simple. Coffee, light food, toys for the kids, and a group of mums in a local community space. The goal is for real friendships to form naturally — through showing up week after week, not through icebreaker games or structured activities. The conversation tends to go to the real stuff pretty quickly.

Who runs these groups?

Mums Groups is an initiative of SeeSalt, an Australian ACNC-registered not-for-profit. Groups are hosted by local volunteers connected to local mainstream churches in your area — everyday mums, students, and professionals who wanted to build something genuine for their community. Our hosts are trained, and everyone's safety matters to us. You'll be welcomed, not managed.

Is it free?

Coffee, tea, refreshments, and toys are provided, and there's generally no cost involved. Some groups may suggest a voluntary $5 contribution to help cover their expenses, but if that's not workable, just let them know. All mums are welcome, regardless of your circumstance.

Is this a religious thing?

Our groups are hosted by people connected to local Christian mainstream churches — but these are social groups, not church gatherings. The people who come are from all kinds of backgrounds: some spiritual, some sceptical, many with no religious connection at all. You don't need to believe anything to belong here. If you're ever curious about faith, we're happy to chat — but there's no agenda or expectation here.

Is there a hidden agenda to get me into a church?

No. What you see is what you get — mums and kids in local safe spaces, having coffee, looking out for each other, learning together. Our hosts are connected to local churches, but our goal is to create a healthy community and connection for local mums.

What if I no longer want to come?

No strings at all. If the group isn't your thing, you can stop coming without any awkwardness. We won't spam your inbox. We take Australian privacy laws seriously — if you want your details removed, we do it straight away, though we'd be sad to see you go!

Can I come if I'm pregnant?

Yes absolutely, soon-to-be mums are very much welcome!

What if there's no group near me?

Enter your postcode and we'll check. If there's nothing in your area yet, we'll hold your details and reach out as soon as a group opens up near you. We have new groups opening up across Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide over 2026.
