More than just a run club, this is a space to get active, make new friends, and move beyond the superficial. Ditch the small talk and join us for a run this week.

A third space
Think of this as a “third space” between work and home—a local club for young locals to connect over a shared run. We’re not here for career networking, dating events or church services. Instead, we focus on genuine friendships and shared experiences. We’re a Christian not-for-profit, focused on creating open, safe and welcoming spaces to belong.

You sound like exactly the kind of person we built our run club for—someone who wants to go for a run, find local community and actually get to know people. We'd love to meet you!

It sounds like you’re pretty focused on your solo training right now, which is total respect. We’re a very social, conversation-heavy group, so you might find our pace a bit distracting from your goals.
Getting started
Our run clubs are free, low pressure, friendly and welcoming.

The community
Amanda loves a stroll down the beach as much as she does a cruisy run through Kings Park. Very chill and easy going.
Ethan is a Perth business exec who loves a good run as well as meeting new people.
Mon is one of our Perth Run group hosts, she's super friendly, passionate about people and community and loves a good run!
Absolutely. We welcome all running abilities. From beginners to serious runners. The thing we have in common is wanting community, connection, fun vibes with no agenda. There will be others at the same ability level as you, and those who are keen to take it easy and jog and chat – so come along – you’ll be welcomed for sure!
The Common Room local city clubs are for young Australians who are over digital noise and looking for real-world communities to belong. Whether you are a uni student, new to the city after an interstate move, or have just landed from overseas, this is a space to find your feet with people who actually care.
To be clear: we aren’t a dating site, a singles’ mixer, or a “hustle culture” networking group. We skip the superficial “surface-level” posturing that often makes social events awkward. Instead, it’s a chilled environment where you can meet people, go for a run, be honest about your journey and explore big questions about life and purpose—without the weird pressure or institutional expectations.
The Common Room is an initiative of SeeSalt, an Australian registered not-for-profit charity. Local groups are run by local volunteers from mainstream churches in your area (Anglican, Baptist, Catholic etc.). These volunteers are great people like you — students, tradies, and professionals—who are passionate about building community and helping others navigate life’s big questions.
Even though the vibe is casual, we take your safety seriously. Our events are a safe space, our volunteers are trained in healthy boundaries and there’s no weird vibes, so everyone feels secure and welcome.
Zilch, zero, nada. No fees, no donations, no nothing. If you want to buy yourself a coffee or drink after the run, by all means, bring a few bucks, but aside from that, there are no costs at all.
We don’t provide any kind of planned supervision or programme for children, but that being said – if you want to come along but also need to watch your kids, and they are keen to run with you – then no worries, you are more than welcome to come along. Chat to your host if you have any questions or concerns, just know we are all about welcoming people, and making life easy so you can come along stress free.
18 to mid-thirties, though there’s no strict rule. Just know most of our runners are in their 20’s and 30’s.
There are zero strings attached. If you decide run club isn’t your vibe, you can simply head off at any time without any drama. You don’t even have to say goodbye (though that would be sad), we’re not here to hassle you or spam your inbox.
We respect your data privacy and only keep the bare essentials needed to get you connected. We follow Australian privacy laws, so if you ever want your details deleted, we do it straight away—no questions asked.
Nope, not at all. This community is made up of people from all sorts of backgrounds—some identify as spiritual, some are skeptical, and many don’t identify with any religion or belief system at all. We just think life is better when you have real-world connections and a safe space to talk about the things that actually matter. Whether you have a specific faith or none at all, you’re exactly who this club is for.
Nope. We’re over the “bait-and-switch” too. While our volunteer hosts are from local mainstream churches, the run club is exactly what it says on the tin: a run club. Our goal is simply to build genuine community in a city that can often feel isolated. If you’re ever curious about faith, we’re happy to chat about it, but there’s never any pressure to join an institution or change what you believe to be part of the group.
